• Introduction to hazardous and non-hazardous wastes.

Day 2: Management of Contamination and Hazardous Wastes

• Relationship between contamination and occupational health & safety.
• Importance of documentation and hazardous waste regulations.
• Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) and Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).
• Conducting contamination audits and managing waste disposal sites.

Day 3: Contamination and Pollution Prevention

• Exploration & Production, Refining & Transportation.
• Oil spill prevention and modern tanker design.
• Zero Waste (ZW) and Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) concepts.
• Pollution control strategies and contingency planning.

Day 4: Life Cycle Management and Environmental Audits

• The 5R’s: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Recover, and Rethink.
• Proper storage of hazardous materials and ongoing training.
• Updates on ISO 14001, 18001, and 9001 standards.
• Types of environmental audits and their importance.

Day 5: Big Picture Review and Environmental Ethics

• HAZID (Hazard Identification) and HAZOP (Hazard & Operability).
• Environmental ethics and real-life examples.
• Climate change updates and implications for Gulf Coast Countries.
